  1. In the instructions below, Bold Type represents what actually gets typed on the computer and ENTER means simply hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.

  1. Section B Steps 2 - 14 are performed on the Internet Computer and Steps 15 - 23 are performed on your Checkmate®* computer and will result in Checkmate®* being inaccessible for about 5 minutes.
  2. Inventory Files can be large, ranging from 6 Megabytes to 50 Megabytes depending on how many parts are inventoried. PKZIP is a popular shareware compression tool that runs on DOS. On average, PKZIP compresses the Inventory Files to 20% of their original size. PKZIP can save compressed files across multiple Floppy Disks, therefore, if your Inventory size is greater than 25K parts, you simply use more Floppy Disks.
  3. PKZIP is installed on your Checkmate®* System and on Your Internet Computer.
  4. Compressing the Inventory Files makes it easy to transfer Inventory from your Checkmate®* Computer to your Internet Computer and makes uploading Inventory data onto your Web Server 5 times faster!
  5. PKZIP is a shareware utility that  provides very good compression. We simply provide the PKZIP download for free. If you are interested in PKZIP registration benefits, see the PKWARE Web Site from the authors of PKZIP.
